Calendars
Our online calendars (hosted by Google) are updated regularly to keep you in touch with the latest events from our congregation (congregation calendar) and public events we host in our building (building use calendar). It is our hope that providing these calendar services will be helpful for our members to stay informed or connected to the people, groups, and activities from anywhere there is an online connection. Below is a bit more about these calendars.
- Congregation Calendar - Our congregation calendar hosts events that are relevant to our congregation, such as worship, Sunday education opportunities,
small group gatherings, committee meetings, special events,
Wednesday evening activities, as well as other events directly related to the congregation.
- Building Use Calendar- Our building use calendar hosts just about everything that is available to our congreation AND the public. Here are some examples of regularly occuring events/groups you can find on this calendar: Weight Watchers, Tai Chi, Yoga - Mother's Song, Awareness Through Movement, Gambler's Anonymous, Zen Meditiation Class, Downbeats, Sinfonia, and you'll find non-reoccuring special events and meeting here, too.
How can I make the most out of using these calendars?
We chose to use Google calendars because of the flexibility they offer to synch them with other calendars (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, iCal, your mobile phone, or possibly even your home iGoogle calendar). If you would like to add Coppertop/FUMC calendars to your own personal google calendar, add one or both of the calendars using the following instructions:
Instructions for adding Coppertop/First United Methodist Calendars to your own Google Calendar
- If you don't have a google account, go the the website: www.google.com/calendar and sign up for a google account.
- After you have a google account, you'll be able to access a calendar. To add one of the church calendars, find the "Other Calendars" box in the lefthand column. Click on the text link "Add", select "Add a Public Calendar", then click on the "Add by URL" tab (you'll be on the Add Other Calendars page). Then, copy and paste the URL (below) of the FUMC/Coppertop calendar you'd like to add next to the Public Calendar Address box, then click Add.
